About Lin Teichman

I have been interested in image creation my whole life. Over the years I have been compelled to create more than just a pretty picture...I look for ways to bring meaning and emotion to my work. Sometimes by going into the surreal, sometimes by paring down an image to its most basic elements. My art inspires questions, thinking, and second looks. Things are not always what they seem to be in my images.

I do landscape and nature photography to express my deep passion for the beauty of our planet. I do travel photography to bring far away places and people to others. I do sports photography to capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments that happen to and between athletes. I use my camera as a tool to freeze a moment in time to be enjoyed over and over again.

My watercolors are about light, color and ideas. Surreal and real images both interest me…each has its place in expressing an idea or a feeling about a time or place, often going beyond where a photograph can go.

For over 30 years I have been a graphic designer. I have been helping clients and employers create graphic images and pieces that convey their messages and while entertaining the eye. I have handled projects from conception to final printed (and now electronic) product, working with the client to reflect what they needed to say and show: on-time and on-budget.

I studied commercial art in high school, and then went on to get a Bachelors Degree in Communication Design from Pratt Institute. I am an award-winning watercolorist, photographer, and graphic designer. My work has been and is collected by individuals all over the country.
